Q&A With Max the Miniature Schnauzer

When we recently received a Facebook Friend Request from Max the Miniature Schnauzer, we thought it was a joke. Lap dogs don’t have FB pages, do they? But it turns out Max is smarter than your average 18-pound canine. Not only can he sit and lay on command, but he figured out at a very early age the importance of calcium, protein and probiotics in a dog’s diet. His smart owners serve him Lifeway Organic Farmer Cheese every single morning, without fail. After accepting his Friend Request, we messaged Max with a few questions, which he kindly took the time to answer below.
How old are you, Max?
My parents have entered me in Dog Fancy Magazine’s Annual Cutest Dog Contest for a decade now, so 10 years old, it looks like.
And when did you start drinking kefir?
Well, like I said in my Facebook message, it all actually started with your Organic Farmer Cheese. I love how moist it is – not too moist or watery, but not dry and hard to swallow, either. And the taste is awesome…kind of like a mix between cottage cheese and cream cheese. I’d totally spread it on a bagel if I had opposable thumbs.
That’s great to hear! Have you tried our kefir, too?
Oh, sure. The parents pour a little plain kefir on top of my cheese and I just go to town.
And that’s your breakfast?
That’s my breakfast. For lunch, I hit it old school style with Purina Dog Chow. But I’m telling you, I am so hooked on the Farmer Cheese that if for some reason Ma and Pa forget to put some in my bowl by 9am, I throw a mini hunger strike and will NOT eat lunch or dinner. It’s been this way for ten years. I’m a Miniature Schnauzer who knows what he wants.
Besides eating our products, what are your other hobbies?
I like riding in the front seat of my mom's sweet Toyota Four Runner, barking at geese and freaking out whenever a bigger dog walks by. And there's nothing like a long nap in this one sunny spot on our living room floor, near the sliding glass door. It's heaven. Oh, and ladies: I'm available.
