Lifeway Kefir fan "Frau” from Minneapolis just emailed us the following note:
“We love to keep the caps on the ProBugs drink and use them for stamping Play-Doh! I love the product, and that you use renewable energy, but trashing the container does make my stomach cringe. We also reuse the cardboard box to hold stuff, i.e. put in a paper cup and use to hold art supplies, or more containers of Play-Doh and other Play-Doh accessories.”
Fantastic ideas, Frau! We’re all about reducing, re-using and recycling. Even our spoons at Starfruit Café are biodegradable!
For those of you with kids – or just young at heart – get to work on that Play-Doh stamping! In the meantime, here are some other ideas for recycling our many delicious items:
String the caps and bead them for Christmas tree garland or a fancy necklace.
Collect kefir bottle caps (pink from Pomegranate, blue from Blueberry) and play a healthy game of Checkers.
Cut off the bottom of a kefir bottle and fill it with paint and glue for your kids’ art projects.
Rinse and dry various single-serve bottles of kefir and create a colorful mobile for over your baby’s crib. (OK, we’re joking with that one. Kind of.)
