Does freezing kefir kill the probiotics?Mar

Since introducing our frozen kefir just over a year ago (aww, happy birthday, frozen kefir!) we’ve received a ton of feedback from chill-seeking fans all over the country. People love the low calorie, low fat dessert because it’s 99% lactose free, gluten free and most importantly, it’s delicious!
Frozen fans might also love the 10 live probiotic cultures in Lifeway Frozen Kefir – but does freezing them kill them off? The answer is no! Freezing doesn’t kill the probiotics, but rather, it puts them into a dormant state.
So basically, they’re taking a nap until they warm up again inside your body. Once they’re all cozy and warm in your insides they go back to their active state, where they bring all the same benefits as a refrigerated kefir.
