Actor Gregory Itzin, who plays President Charles Logan on FOX's primetime drama 24 and Agent Virgil Minelli on CBS’ The Mentalist, is now playing a new role: Crohn’s and colitis spokesperson. Itzin has recorded a series of radio public service announcements designed to raise awareness about Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis and the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America's new Take Steps Walk program, which will raise essential research dollars.
The actor unfortunately suffers from ulcerative colitis, a painful, incurable illness that attacks the digestive system. In the 60-second PSA, he explains that a combination of “diet and diligence” have helped him to manage his condition, but not all of the 1.4 million Americans who struggle with Crohn’s of colitis are so lucky.
